About
School Spirit is a blog featuring the misadventures of a primary school teacher in semi rural Victoria, Australia. To be more specific, the central Gippsland region of Victoria, right in the middle of the coal fired power industry. It’s main aim is to provide anecdotes of the most important aspect of primary education, that being the interaction and teaching of the kids themselves, but also covers the more professional requirements of the job and more humourous bits and pieces that come to light from time to time.
As well as giving an insight into the world of this particular teacher, School Spirit also acts as another introduction to the School Spirit webcomic. This is a cartoon strip currently into it’s fourth year, well over 500 strips long, and featuring Australian primary school children in their own light hearted little adventures. There are also a few spirits wandering around the cemetery next door which keep getting themselves involved from time to time. Hopefully it’s a good, family friendly strip that may just be of interest to anybody else reading this particular blog.
The kids I work with regularly read it as I have the strips set up on the classroom computers for their own personal reading instead of accessing the website itself. A little bit of internet precaution practiced there.
At this stage, that is the reason for this particular blog. Maybe it will develop further in the future, maybe not. Here’s to what it can be right now though!
Cheers.
